The contemplative nature of this 5/4 chorale makes me think of the simple physical act of leaving footprints in the mud or snow on a quiet walk, but also of the impact we humans have on each other and on the earth. May we tread lightly and lovingly on our home, the earth, and care gently for our fellow humans and other creatures.
